Anthropic and AI infrastructure provider Nscale are reportedly close to announcing another $45 billion compute deal, just over a month after the two companies agreed a deal of the same size.

According to Bloomberg, which cited people familiar with the matter, the companies are on the verge of finalizing the new agreement, although talks are still ongoing and the terms could change.

If completed, the deal would extend a long run of major compute agreements Anthropic has struck over the past year to secure capacity for its AI models. The scale of spending on AI infrastructure has unsettled some investors, who worry that companies are committing too much capital for too little profit. Anthropic has nonetheless continued to pursue such partnerships, based on the belief that the investment will ultimately pay off.

Both companies are also preparing to go public. Anthropic is still expected to complete an IPO this year, while Nscale is pursuing its own listing. However, Bloomberg separately reported that Nscale is facing pushback from investors over its proposed valuation of $30 billion.
